Seniors,
You all should be immensely proud of yourself for submitting your CUNY and SUNY applications last week! As of now, 92% of seniors have submitted their CUNY applications and 70% of seniors have submitted their SUNY applications! This week, we will work to hit 100% of CUNY applications submitted and at least 85% of SUNY applications submitted!
For all seniors who submitted their applications on time, there will be a surprise for you this Tuesday!
This week in senior seminar class, students who are EOP eligible will be submitting their EOP applications on the SUNY portal. Other students will begin working on their Common Application (for out of state public schools and private schools).
*To submit your EOP applications, you must have a copy of your family's 2023 federal and state taxes. To be considered, you must upload the tax file into the application. If admitted through EOP, you will get a $3,000 scholarship yearly while in college.
Upcoming Trips:
- This Wednesday we will going on the SUNY New Paltz and Dutchess Community College Trip. Students attending MUST HAVE SUBMITTED THEIR CUNY AND SUNY APPLICATIONS. Beginning Friday, applications opened up to Junior students. If you are interested, please sign up ASAP while spots are left.
- SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Dutchess Community College Trip will be our first big bus trip of the year! We will be leaving at 6:15am and will be visiting SUNY New Paltz and then SUNY Dutchess Community College before returning to Maker in the evening. SUNY New Paltz is most well known for their Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Social Sciences, and Business program. Dutchess Community College is a 2-year school that offers many certificate programs and programs you can find in a trade school. Some of their strongest programs are their Computer Information Systems program, Human Services, Education, Business, and Aviation programs, among others. Find the permission slip HERE.
- On our second bus trip of the year, we will be visiting SUNY University at Albany AND Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). SUNY U Albany is one of the most liked SUNY schools with strong programs in Business, Sciences, Social Sciences, Computer Science and Cybersecurity. RPI is well known for their Engineering, Computer Science, Business, and Math programs. Their top majors are Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering.
Family Financial Aid Night:
- Please join us on Thursday, November 14th for Financial Aid Night. This night is extremely important because we will be discussing the FAFSA application, which is delayed again this year and different from years past. Although we will be offering both an in-person AND remote option, we highly encourage families to come in person because this can be very confusing.
- This event will be catered. To let us know that you are coming, please sign this form.
