Seniors,
This Thursday from 6pm-7:30pm, The College Office will be hosting Family Financial Aid Night! We are encourage all senior families AND students to attend! You will learn about the new FAFSA (plus what to expect with the FAFSA delays), TAP, CSS Profile, as well as a step-by-step walk through of the FAFSA application. When you come in person, you also can sign up for meetings with Amanda or Clint, plus a parent support group. Dinner will be catered. Translators will be provided.
Please expect social work interns working with the College Office to call families to let them know about Thursday and see how many members of their family are attending. Bring your siblings and the whole family, just be there! We look forward to seeing you!
This week:
- Seniors who are EOP eligible will be scheduled for 1 on 1 meetings to submit their EOP application for SUNY.
- To be ready for your meeting, you must have:
- Submitted a copy of your family's 2023 federal taxes and state taxes to the College Office.
- If you received Public Assistance, we will need a budget letter indicating the Public Assistance benefits you received
- If you received Social Security Benefits and/or Supplemental Security Income, we will need a Statement of Benefits which can be found at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount
- Hunter College Trip on Thursday morning (only for students who have applied to Hunter
- In Senior Seminar class with Amanda, students will begin working on the Common Application if they are applying to private schools and/or out of state public schools. Other students will begin researching trade schools and applying to scholarships.
Upcoming Trips:
Hunter College Trip on November 14th:
- On Thursday, November 14th (the same day as Family Financial Aid Night), 30 students will be visiting Hunter College for an info session and tour.
Career Expo at BMCC on November 20th:
- Next Wednesday, students who are interested in a trade will be attending the Career Expo at BMCC. Students will explore diverse career paths and post-secondary options. Amanda and Melissa will reach out to selected students who have shown interest in trade school and the workforce.
Senior Day Cruise:
- On Friday, November 15th, ALL seniors are invited on a day cruise of Manhattan. We will be leaving at 11am and will be returning to the pier at 3pm. Please dress warm! A DJ and buffet lunch will be provided. This trip is completely FREE for every senior! Please see Clint in 408 for permission slips OR find them in your senior seminar room.

Deadline Reminders:
- Macaulay Honors application is due November 15th at 11:59pm
- Early Action applications are due November 15th at 11:59pm
- CUNY application is free until November 15th at 11:59pm
Announcements:
- If your family has not done so already, please complete and return the Class of 2025 Family Intake Form and return it to the College Office or email it to [email protected]. This form will allow the College Office to determine if a student is eligible for opportunity programs, scholarships, and will aid in helping to build a college list. This intake form along with your 2023 taxes are essential in completing financial aid applications. We strongly encourage every junior family to complete this form and have your child submit it to the College Office.
